EMMERDALE is going back down to six episodes a week – and fans will now only get one show on a Tuesday.

Fans of the ITV soap will have a little less drama in their lives from the end of this month after the network announced it’s new schedule.

Emmerdale is going back down to six episodes a week – and fans will now only get one show on a Tuesday

From Monday, August 26, Emmerdale will revert back to six episodes a week.

Since April, the show had aired seven shows from Monday to Friday, after slotting in an extra episode at 8pm on Tuesdays.

It isn’t the first time the soap has extended it’s run over the summer months, having previously extended the Tuesday episode to an hour instead of 30 minutes.

This time however, show bosses saw the extra output start earlier in the year and last for a longer period of time.

The show has been airing an extra episode at 8pm on a Tuesday since April
But from August 26, the show will be back down to six episodes a week

It has allowed the show to give fans more drama with huge storylines including the Big Night Out and the recent fire at the sweet factory, which saw Frank Clayton die.

But on Tuesday, August 27, Emmerdale will only air at 7pm for half an hour.

It will be followed by Save Money: Good Health at 7.30pm and then Love Your Garden at 8pm instead of the extra episode.

Meanwhile, last night’s episode left fans convinced Al Chapman is Kim Tate’s mystery business partner.

After Al makes a suspicious phone call Emmerdale fans took to Twitter in a bid to suss out his mischievous plans
ITV

The businessman – who is played by actor Michael Wildman in the ITV soap – made a suspicious phone call at the end of the episode after tricking his son Ellis to accept his investment into his personal training business.

But just seconds later on the phone he was less complimentary about the village and the villagers to an unknown person on the phone, making clear his dodgy dealings.

The scene echoed Kim’s phone call last week to her new mystery business partner, with whom she has nefarious plans for the factory – something potentially with an illegal twist.

After tonight’s scenes, fans are more than convinced with one writing: “Chances of Al Chapman being in cahoots with Kim Tate?”

A second said: “Why do I get the feeling Al is Kim’s new business partner?”
