JOE ROOT’s men are facing an uphill battle in the Second Test at Lord’s.

After a washout on the first day of play, England were put into bat at the Home of Cricket but could only muster 258 all out before Australia reached 30-1 at stumps.

The Aussies had to bat through a difficult 13 over period at the end of the day but Cameron Bancroft and Usman Khawaja saw things out after Daivd Warner went cheaply.

When is England vs Australia?

The second Ashes Test started on Wednesday, August 14 and runs for five days until Sunday, August 18.

Rain washed out the first day, before a full day’s play on Thursday set us up for day three.

Play begins at 11am – but there is more rain forecast in the capital which could bring further delays.
