Steven Gerrard enjoyed a fine playing career in the Premier League before making the step into management.

He made 504 league appearances for Liverpool between 1998 and 2015, scoring 120 goals.

Going on to captain the club, the former midfielder was also part of Brendan Rodgers’ side that challenged for the title in 2014.

In 2005, Gerrard was involved in one of the greatest nights in the club’s history.

Trailing AC Milan by three goals at half-time in the Champions League final, Liverpool fought back to level the game in Istanbul before winning via a penalty shoot-out.

After leaving Liverpool Gerrard had an 18-month stint with LA Galaxy in the MLS before hanging up his boots.

He returned to the Reds coach of the U18s and last summer he signed a four-year deal to take over at Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

Gerrard also won a number of individual awards during his career, including being named in the PFA Team of the Year a record eight times.

He appeared in the UEFA Team of the Year and FIFA World XI on three occasions.

In 114 England appearances, Gerrard scored 21 goals for his country and appeared at both the European Championships and World Cup.

His debut came in May 2000 and he retired after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
