Last year’s edition of Strictly Come Dancing saw Italian professional dancer Giovanni paired up with Steps singer Faye Tozer.
The pair did incredibly well throughout the BBC series, often getting top scores on the leaderboards, and made it to the dazzling finale.
Yet appearing on This Morning today alongside his co-workers and friends Gorka Marquez and Aljaz Skorjanec, 28-year-old Giovanni revealed he normally has to “Google” his partners when the line-up is announced.
The conversation came about when Holly, 37, quizzed the trio on whether they had any idea of who would be taking part in the show this year.
The hotly-anticipated series has seen a number of rumoured showbiz names bounced around in the media, and radio presenter Chris Evans has even declared he will be taking part already.
At first Aljaz told the hosts “unfortunately we don’t know who’s in the line-up,” prompting an accepting sigh from Holly.
“But especially for me,” Giovanni suddenly chimed in. “I’m not English.
“So I don’t know most of them.”
Giovanni’s blunt honesty sparked giggles from Holly and Phillip, who were clearly taken-aback by the dancer’s admission.
“I just Google them” Giovanni went on with a shrug. “When I know the name.”
During the interview, the group also revealed they were excited for the next series to begin.
“We are back and we’re looking forward to it,” Giovanni said. “We spend six or seven months on the road but it’s nice.
“Looking forward to meeting our new celebs, it’s gonna be interesting,” Aljaz said.
“Just finished the professional tour with Pasha definitely gonna miss him,” Gorka then lamented, as the group agreed they were “really upset” he was leaving.
Asked if there was anyone else in the mix after the shock announcement Dame Darcey Bussell wouldn’t be returning to the judging panel, the trio were deliberately vague.
Holly then pressed them to answer what they think about the possibility of Anton Du Beke taking on the role, but Aljaz answered cryptically.
“I do believe anyone the producers will choose will be the right choice,” he said.
“Big shoes to fill though?” Phillip commented, as Giovanni joked the ballerina has “quite tiny feet”.
Yesterday’s edition of the show saw reporter and ex-Love Island star Kem Cetinay spill some secrets from the series, and he revealed the cameras aren’t always rolling.
What’s more, Faye Tozer has recently teased which other STEPS star she thinks will do the series.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year and This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
